How to choose a fuse
In order to better protect circuits and products, the choice of fuse is very important. The following is mainly explained from different angles.
Choose from fuse type
The type of fuse should be selected according to the application. Grid power distribution generally uses knife-type contact fuses; motor protection generally uses screw-type fuses; lighting circuits generally use cylindrical hat-shaped fuses; thyristor components should be protected by fast fuses for semiconductor protection.
Choose from the specifications of the fuse
For loads such as transformers, electric furnaces and lighting equipment, the rated current of the melt should be slightly greater than or equal to the load current.
For transmission and distribution lines, the rated current of the melt should be slightly greater than or equal to the safe current of the line.
When used as short-circuit protection in the motor circuit, the starting conditions of the motor should be considered, and the rated current of the melt should be selected according to the length of the motor starting time.
